CropVue Technologies is an agriculture technology company that builds remote cellular IoT devices that operate in crop fields to measure weather and pest pressure. The data is sent to a cloud platform where AI analytics are used to build key insights and deliver real-time information to growers to help improve crop yields.

We are seeking a proven AI/ML Software Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in TensorFlow, Pytorch, Python and Python-based inference deployment on cloud plaforms, data analysis, maximizing accuracy with small datasets and transfer learning techniques, experience with small object detection, a thorough background on the usage of CNN architectures like Faster-RCNN and RetinaNet, and the know-how to scale and perform inference on 1000s of images every day and manage dozens of AI models to support crop analysis from remote IoT hardware running in various fields across the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement AI-based solutions for our agricultural monitoring systems
  • Optimize object detection algorithms for high accuracy performance (92%+)
  • Deploy and maintain AI models on cloud-based platforms
  • Collaborate with web developers to integrate and support AI solutions into our existing web application
  • Continuously evaluate and improve AI models to achieve maximum accuracy and efficiency from real-time field data
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and bring innovative ideas to the team.

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience as an ML Engineer or related role with prior experience detecting small objects using object detection CNNs
  • Proficiency in TensorFlow, Pytorch, Python, Git, and related AI libraries and tools
  • Strong understanding of high accuracy object detection architectures (Faster-RCNN, RetinaNet, Yolo) and using fine-tuning, transfer learning techniques
  • Experience with cloud deployment on AWS, Google, Azure
  • Solid understanding of computer vision concepts and image processing techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with remote team members
