Summerhill Market is a boutique grocery store chain in Toronto that specializes in scratch-made prepared foods and on-trend ingredients. Our stores go above and beyond a typical grocery store by offering an extensive rotating selection of ready to eat gourmet meals, freshly baked goodies, and curated hard to find groceries.

We are looking for talented individuals to join our growing team, and help develop our brand, to take it to the next level. Summerhill Market is an industry trend setter, and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about food.

Summerhill Market is looking for a Packager, to help package the baked goods that our customers love!

Duties & Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Bakery Packager include, but are not limited to the following:

• Package baked goods and other products to be sold in our retail locations
• Ensure labeling is done accurately and that proper expiry, packaging dates and nutritional labels are present on the package and in correct position
• Unpack and store supplies in storage areas as needed
• Maintain a clean work area throughout your shift
• Communicate any issues with regards to inventory levels, raw materials or the department as a whole to your supervisor
• Maintain Health and Safety Standards as defined under the Health and Safety Act and in accordance with Toronto Public Health regulations
• Any other reasonable tasks as assigned.

Skillset Requirements:

• Ability to work well with others and be part of a team
• Ability to use scales to weigh foods and proper operation of equipment
• Assist as required with packaging and pricing
• Ensure proper stock is available for customers
• Expert knowledge of products, preparation and safe handling
• Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds or less
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays.
