The Medical Laboratory Technologist II is responsible for the coordination, organization and operation of the site Laboratory department. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) II, you will coordinate the day-to-day operations and the quality control function of the laboratory. You may have advanced technical knowledge or are the lead responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of Laboratory Information System (LIS) support, site education, quality assurance or laboratory research programs. Your responsibilities may include coordinating, prioritizing, monitoring and assigning work to MLT l's, providing technical advice, problem solving and trouble shooting on a variety of laboratory instruments. In addition, you will participate in the technical aspects of the laboratory, ensuring the performance of standard and specialized procedures.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:5 years of full time Laboratory experience in Cytology.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with quality control and methodology work up as well as training staff and students. Experience writing, review and updating procedure manuals. Experience providing technical advice, resolving technical problems and advanced troubleshooting for operation and maintenance of specialized instrumentation. Training and/or demonstrated experience related to quality improvement, conflict resolution and customer service.
