Purpose:
The Garden Labourer is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks in order to assist with landscape maintenance and completion of construction projects. The garden laborer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks. This position will entail the following:
- Digging with various tools, heavy lifting to prep gardens for the upcoming season, weeding, transplanting and thinning of annuals, perennials and shrubs.
- Laying of sod or artificial grass, and build framework of indoor floral displays, or prepare outdoor display beds according to work plan.
- Transplant plants from growing area to display beds, or place potted plants in beds according to work plans.
- Attend to display beds to maintain health of plants and beauty of display.
- May mow lawns, prune trees, and perform other duties to maintain grounds.
We require a person with personal or professional gardening experience. A driver's license is required, and must possess the ability to get to and from work (Astorville area) and various job sites on a daily basis.
