The Labour Relations branch provides labour relations leadership and expertise for the Yukon government, manages the collective bargaining processes, and supports departments in employee relations matters. We are a passionate, dynamic team that provides a wide range of labour relations services and support to departments and Yukon Government, and we continuously strive towards customer service excellence.
We are looking for someone who is interested in labour relations, taking on a new challenge and actively and enthusiastically learning on the job. Our ideal candidate is energetic and motivated to learn the practice and principles of labour relations. This position reports to the Manager Labour Relations and supports the manager as well as six Labour Relations Advisors. The position researches and provides interpretations of the collective agreements, policies and legislation as well as provides research, including case law, and some analysis on complex employment cases. The position attends and is expected to fully participate in weekly case management/interpretation meetings with the manager and advisors. Other duties of the position include some administrative support to the branch (approximately 30%) including tracking grievances and designing and preparing the branch’s quarterly newsletter.
