Under the guidance of the Liquor Store Manager, the Liquor Store Clerk/Delivery Driver is responsible for providing prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service to clients and customers at the Curvy Bottle Liquor Store and able to process and deliver outside vendor orders as required. The successful candidate must have Class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive to outside vendor locations and deliver requested alcoholic beverage order accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Generate sales for the liquor store.
  • Serve customers and operate the CLR POS system accurately.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Participate in merchandising and promotional activities such as marquee signs, starbursts, sales tags and stocking all products within the store.
  • Accurate creation and processing of liquor transfers to outlets.
  • Performing distribution of all liquor purchases, including proper and safe stocking, lifting, sorting, and processing.
  • Ensure accuracy in monthly inventory counts and procedures.
  • Participate in store maintenance and cleaning, such as vacuuming, cleaning of all counters and shelving, dusting bottles, and cleaning glass.
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge.
  • Assist in liquor deliveries to internal or external vendors when required.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanour, and attitude at all times;
  • Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.

Education, Qualification and Requirements

  • Minimum of Grade 12 or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in retail sales preferred.
  • Computer knowledge and skills.
  • Strong knowledge of retail sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
  • Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Pro-Serve, Pro -Tec, and WHMIS certified.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check upon hiring
  • Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Must be fluent in English;
  • Must be of minimum age to sell alcoholic beverages
  • Preference to individuals with a class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract who can be insured under the Red Deer Resort & Casino vehicle insurance plan.

Work Environment

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Work environment is heated and air-conditioned, potential to be around dust and varying temperatures throughout the seasons.
  • Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 35 pounds regularly.
  • While performing the duties of this job, there may be stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, and crouching

Hours of Work

  • The hours of work for this position will vary depending on operational requirements but will include day, evening, holiday, and weekend shifts.
