Job Description

We are looking for a licensed paralegal who is comfortable starting in an entry-level position.

We expect the candidate to work with our firm to learn and develop their skills to the point where they can conduct trials and assist in the day-to-day operations of our office.

No experience is necessary; you must be willing to learn.

Applicant must be a Licensed Paralegal in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada.

This position requires a highly efficient and well-organized person for a fast-paced legal firm.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding of POA/HTA offences
  • Attending court in person or by zoom
  • Receiving and directing client emails and walk-in inquiries
  • Managing emails and correspondence to clients and prosecutors
  • Opening/Closing client files
  • Diarizing court dates, disclosure requests and other time-sensitive tasks
  • Supporting senior Paralegal staff with office tasks
  • Reviewing disclosure

The successful candidate should:

  • Possess strong attention to detail
  • Be able to organize their time effectively to meet the demands of a high-volume and fast-paced work environment
  • Work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Be able to work at a desk and computer for prolonged periods
  • Be confident working independently as well as part of a team

The successful candidate must:

  • Be a Licensed Paralegal
  • Have a vehicle for transportation with a valid licence (mileage is reimbursed).

*Second languages are considered an asset

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: $200.00-$700.00 per week
