Commissionaires Great Lakes is part of Commissionaires Canada, the country's largest private sector employer of veterans. We are a not-for-profit organization with a social mandate to provide meaningful employment to veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, members of their families, and others who wish to contribute to the security and well-being of Canadians.

OVERVIEW

Commissionaires Great Lakes offers an immediate opportunity for a versatile, highly motivated Security Professional. We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills, strong working knowledge of computer systems, CCTV experience, a positive attitude and the ability to provide excellent customer service, security and protection for our client's site. As a front-line representative of our company and client’s site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
• Monitor CCTV cameras
• Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
• Maintain effective communication• Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
• Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
• Regular interior and exterior foot patrols
• Make sure the reception desk is always monitored
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 19 years of age
• Be a Permanent Resident of Canada or a Canadian Citizen;
• No criminal record (or no criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted);
• Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check;
• Be eligible to apply for Government of Canada personnel security screening; and
• Be able to communicate effectively in English (bilingual would be considered an asset).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a secondary school diploma
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
• The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
• Effective customer services/reception/administrative skills
• Good understanding of computers
