Job Summary

This Part-Time opportunity is primarily a remote role, reporting to the Director of IT & Communications, the Webmaster is the bridge between web technology and operations in being the manager of the Sagamok website. The Webmaster handles a range of responsibilities that include leading web design and wireframing, conducting routine site and content maintenance, testing, and other updates as required.

The successful candidate will use their understanding of website development to analyze, prioritize, and provide input or potential solutions on web-related requests, identify best practices, and make recommendations for improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the Sagamokanishnawbek.com website;
  • Utilize knowledge of web design/development to assess requests and provide feedback on timelines and priority;
  • Monitor best practices for web design, responsiveness and accessibility and provide recommendations for improvement;
  • Oversee the quality assurance process to maintain accuracy and functionality of website content;
  • Facilitate a consistent, creative, and unified web design that adheres to the Sagamok’s brand and style guidelines;
  • Contribute to overall digital strategy and planning;
  • Monitor pages for content updates, flag broken links, and images.
  • Design, own and test aesthetic, function, and user-friendliness of site.
  • In collaboration with the IT & Communications team, develop, rollout and maintain documentation for web processes, including detailed specifications and workflows;
  • Monitor and advise on website security and work with the Manager of IT as required;
  • Collect and analyze web analytics and similar data;
  • Make all updates and modifications to the website;
  • Identify opportunities to improve search engine optimization (SEO), time on site, web traffic, and other relevant metrics; and
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree, diploma or certificate in communications, computer science, web design or a related field or a combination of education and relevant experience;
  • A minimum of four (3) years of experience as a Web Designer, Front-End Web Developer, Content Specialist or Site Owner;
  • Experience using WebFlow is a significant bonus;
  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise on trends and best practices in web design;
  • Demonstrated understanding of UX/UI design, with elevated and up to date visual design experience;
  • Graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Knowledge of search engines and SEO best practices;
  • Strong project management, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving experience;
  • Strong organization skills, highly responsive, and detail oriented with follow-through;
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation/facilitation and inter-personal skills;
  • Strong Microsoft office software skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects and produce results within tight deadlines;
