We are looking for a Project Coordinator at our Walker Construction – Niagara location.


Major (Primary) Responsibilities

  • Liaises with project personnel, and performs on-site visits to clarify work required and determine appropriate project deadlines.
  • Reviews project progression to prepare accurate progress invoices for clients and review progress invoices from sub contractors.
  • Analyzes completed projects and compares estimated costs to actual costs to determine the reason for any discrepancies.
  • Identifies and purchases materials required for project completion and arranges for timely delivery to avoid delays.
  • Ensures all legal requirements such as traffic control plans, bonds, insurance agreements and notice of projects documentation are completed and monitored for all awarded tenders to ensure projects are not delayed and comply with municipal legislation.
  • Gathers information for extra work and assists with proposals to clients as required.
  • Reviews payment certificates to ensure accuracy and prepares invoicing for awarded projects.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated numeric and estimating skills to calculate required materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage various projects
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, drafts and designs.
  • Demonstrated computer software skills (i.e. MS Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to produce documents, reports and presentations as required.
  • Business acumen - demonstrated understanding of quality standards relative to tender submission and cost effectiveness.
  • Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills to produce accurate work.
  • Proficient communication skills, both oral and written to disseminate information with clarity, in one on one, or group situations.
  • Communicates well in writing by composing clear documents; facility with editing and/or proof-reading is required
  • Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with associates, customers and colleagues, including senior management.
  • Thorough - makes sure work is done correctly and thoroughly, attentive to details, keeps accurate records
  • Proactive - anticipates and initiates action to meet needs
  • Adaptable - able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
