Fawkes Academy DL is an Independent School. This teaching position supports special education students through our learning centre in Richmond. Our Teachers are supported by Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs) who are skilled and experienced in providing programming and behaviour support where required.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of full time Special Education Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year, at our Richmond location. Experience supporting learners with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and other special education designations is required. This classroom supports 14 students (7 morning, 7 afternoon) with individual education plans.

Qualification and Experience

BC teacher certification

Experience supporting learners with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis

Ability to create IEPs and Report Cards using assessment reports and data

Experience supporting ELL students (preferred)

Experience supporting both verbal and non-verbal students (preferred)

Roles and Responsibilities

In-person Special Education Teacher for 14 students

Liaising with Principal and BCBAs to ensure curriculum and programming are in place

Ongoing case management of each student's program, ensuring correct implementation and monitoring of each individual education plan

Formal reporting through IEPs and Report Cards

Ongoing contact with a student's family

Compensation

$60,000 to $75,000. Commensurate upon experience
